At the tender age of 19 most teenagers are only just beginning to think about their future careers.
But Emma Watson is celebrating being named the highest paid actress of the past decade.
Despite being just nine years old at the Millennium her extra-curricular activities playing Hermione in the Harry Potter films have made more money than any other woman in Hollywood.
The wizard franchise and her role in the animation The Tale Of Despereaux have taken $5.4billion (£3.32billion) worldwide, putting her films’ box-office takings ahead of Hollywood heavyweights such as Julia Roberts, Halle Berry and Cameron Diaz.
She also boasts the highest average box office receipts per movie, with each of her films making an average of £554,880,000.
The star topped the poll by the Guinness Book Of World Records.
The accolade caps a remarkable rise to fame for the former pupil of Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford.
Since her first outing as Hermione as a 10-year-old in 2001, she has amassed a £10million fortune and was recently placed sixth on Forbes’ list of Hollywood’s Most Valuable Young Stars.
Watson is currently the face of Burberry Prorsum and has announced that she is creating a fashion range for ethical brand People Tree next year.
She has also emulated the academic achievements of her character Hermione, earning eight A*s and two As at GCSE, and three As at A-level. She now divides her time between fashion and studying art and literature at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island.
Emma Watson hasn’t dumped British financier beau Jay Barrymore for Spanish rocker Rafael Cebrian as was speculated after Watson and Cebrian were seen together at a Rangers game in late November.
Watson and Barrymore spent Thanksgiving at the Round Hill resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica, reports Page Six.
Cebrian, who is studying at Brown University, where Watson is majoring in English literature, is drummer in the band Monomes. He is the son son of Juan Luis Cebrian, founding director of Madrid-based daily El Pais and the CEO of the Prisa Group, a leading Spanish-media conglomerate.
A new behind the scene video from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” has been available online. Debuted on Entertainment Tonight Canada, the very short clip gives a glimpse at Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour dancing during their wedding. Moreover, the footage shows Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in what looks like the woods.
Prior to the video, official images of the next installment of “Harry Potter” film franchise have been released by Warner Bros. Pictures. The first picture, which was reportedly taken near Piccadilly Circus in London, features the three young wizards. The second photo, meanwhile, captures Harry holding his wand in a place which is believed to be Grimauld Place.
In another “Deathly Hallows” news, Daniel Radcliffe who plays Harry is said to be naked twice in the forthcoming film. According to La Vibra, director David Yates revealed that the British actor will bare his skin when his character and Ron want to kill a Horcrux. Then, the helmer added, “There is another scene in Kings Cross station, where Harry almost dies and sees Dumbledore. In that scene he will also be naked.”
Based on J.K. Rowling’s last “Harry Potter” novel, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” will be made into two movies. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” is due for November 19, 2010 release in both U.S. and U.K., whereas “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II” is slated to be premiered on July 15, 2011. Beside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will also return to reprise their roles as Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.
I’ve added a high quality photo of the first released movie still from ‘Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows’. Click on the below image to view in the gallery!
The very first official photo from the highly anticipated last chapter in the Harry Potter series has arrived courtesy of USA Today. About Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, director David Yates, the mastermind behind both Parts 1 and 2, said, “It’s going to feel very real. We’re going for a vérité approach. Being away from Hogwarts, they’re like these three refugees on the run. They’re out in the big bad world, facing real danger, unguarded by those wonderful benign wizards at Hogwarts. They don’t have a home to go to. We’re kind of pulling away from the magic a bit and bringing more reality to it.” Rupert Grint continued by saying, “”They’re paranoid. It’s quite a scary world because the Snatchers and Death Eaters are running around everywhere. Harry, Ron and Hermione are just camping out in random places, living rough, in regular clothes. Me and Dan actually have some stubble.”
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows finds Harry, Ron, and Hermione hiding in a world full of Muggles with the fate of the Wizarding world in their hands. Directed by David Yates and starring Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe, Bonnie Wright, Tom Felton, Rupert Grint, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Dave Legeno, Jim Broadbent, Evanna Lynch, Ralph Fiennes, Jessie Cave, Robbie Coltrane, Helen McCrory, Julie Walters, Maggie Smith, David Thewlis, and Jason Isaacs, Part 1 is set for November 19th, 2010, while Part 2 wont be in theaters until July 15th, 2011.
