British actress Emma Watson has said that she was quizzed over her sexuality after cutting her hair short, last year.
The Harry Potter star, who recently appeared in My Week With Marilyn, made the revelation in an interview with The Independent newspaper.
Speaking of her headline-grabbing haircut (pictured), Watson said: “I had journalists asking me if this meant I was coming out, if I was a lesbian now.
“That haircut did make me realise how subjective everyone’s opinion is. Some people were crazy for it and some people just thought I’d lost my sh-t. All I can do is follow my instincts, because I’ll never please everyone.”
The 21 year-old, who is also the face of Lancome’s new lipstick, re-iterated this point in an interview with French Elle.
“I’m a multidimensional person and that’s the freedom of fashion,” she says.
“That you’re able to reinvent yourself through how you dress and how you cut your hair or whatever.”
Daniel Radcliffe has revealed that he and Emma Watson got into some massive fights on the set of the Harry Potter films — and they weren’t about who got the most mirror space in their dressing rooms.
Daniel explained that he and Emma frequently engaged in debates about serious topics including religion and politics, and their arguments would get so heated that they would completely stop talking to each other!
He tells Britain’s Radio Times, “Oh, God. We used to argue about everything. Religion. Politics. I remember one of the big arguments we had on the fourth film – we didn’t speak to each other for a couple of days – was about… She was arguing about the Latin language, that nobody knows what it sounds like, what a Latin accent should be. And I was like, ‘Yeah, but it’s still spoken a lot in the Catholic church.’
“Such a w**ky argument, looking back, and it got totally out of hand. She was furious; I was livid.”
And Daniel has some advice for anyone attempting to start an argument with Emma.
He adds, “I certainly would advise anyone, if you’re going to debate with her, know your s**t.”
We kind of love the idea of Emma and Daniel having these crazy arguments — they grew up together, so it’s almost like they’re brother and sister!
Bloody Disgusting got exclusive word that the Weinstein Company may actually get the long-gestured Kristy off the ground.
We’ve been tipped off that Gary Fleder (Kiss the Girls, Don’t Say a Word ) is now in the director’s chair with a shoot date slated for this coming April. Penned by Tony Jaswinski, the slasher is being pegged as The Strangers on a college campus. It follows a college coed who stays in her dorm during Thanksgiving and is terrorized by four masked assailants on the empty campus — the killers are up against far more than they bargained for.
The Weinstein Company hopes to land Harry Potter star Emma Watson in the lead role of “Justine”, although talks have yet to get underway.
David Kirschner is producing with his David Kirschner Productions.
Emma Watson might be playing coy about her relationship status but was all smiles and looking happy while shopping and picking up food supplies with a mystery man in Oxford, England over the weekend.
Photographers caught Watson and her possible new beau kissing a few weeks ago. This led many to believe that the “Harry Potter” actress has a new boyfriend.
Emma was rumored to have been dating her “Perks of Being a Wallflower” co-star Johnny Simmons after they were spotted kissing in August, but both of them have not been spotted together in quite some time.
Emma recently lamented about her dating life and she told “Hollywood Life” that men are generally intimidated by her success and fame.
“It must be the fame wall. It must be the circus that goes around me. Me, as a person, I find it hard to believe I would be intimidating,” she said.
Even when she meets guys, Watson admits that it never goes well.
“Because they are intimidated, they feel they have to knock me down. They know perfectly well who I am, but say, ‘How are the Narnia films going?’” Watson shared.
Well, it looks like this lovely lady cast a magical spell on her rumored boyfriend that he does not mind being seen shopping with her even if she is famous.
A year of studying abroad is probably a bit less daunting when your destination happens to be your home country.
That’s the situation for Emma Watson, the British actress who’s taking time away from Brown University to study at Oxford – in the same part of England where she grew up.
“It’s really nice … just to have that steady routine and back being home, being around people I love and doing what I love,” Watson, 21, said Sunday at the London premiere of My Week with Marilyn.
Although she’s got her nose in the books, Watson does have some movies in the works, she revealed.
“I’m studying and really excited about my next projects,” she said. “I can’t really talk about them right now, but I am going to try and fit in some film projects next year in between school.”
In My Week with Marilyn, which stars Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe, Watson plays Monroe’s wardrobe assistant, Lucy. After the Harry Potter films, she was thrilled to take a role that wasn’t quite as high profile.
“I loved it,” she said. “It was less pressure, but at the same time it was an interesting role, although it was a small role. I loved the script and loved the story, and I’m very interested in Marilyn, so I really wanted to do it.”
“I’m very proud of it,” she added, “and I’m really pleased with my part in it.”
Of Williams, she says, “I thought she was wonderful. Such a thing to take on, to play someone who is so iconic and so loved, and I think she just pulled it off so well. I was so impressed.”
I’ve added new appearances of Emma attending the ‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2′ New York Premiere on July 11th. I will also be playing catch up with events in the new couple of weeks so look out for that.
Emma Watson gets close and personal talking to documentary filmmaker Morgan Matthews in this in-depth making of the final two Harry Potter films, called When Harry Left Hogwarts.
The 21-year-old actress shared, “Ever since I got this part, there’s been this thing that’s hung over us which has been, ‘Oh my god, that child star is doomed’…I feel like people are just waiting for me to screw up.”
When Harry Left Hogwarts also features new interviews with Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Thompson, Helena Bonham Carter, and more.
Poor Emma Watson. In addition to all her other problems, real and/or imaginary, she’s revealed that her ex boyfriend dumped her because she was too famous. However, the cad in question, one Francis Boulle, claims he broke up with La Watson because he didn’t want to become known as the Harry Potter star’s boy toy.
“I have always been an ambitious person and I want to achieve my own notoriety for what I’ve done,” claims Francis. “That’s why I chose not to pursue it any longer, because I didn’t want to be the boyfriend of some child actress.”
Boulle who is now, reportedly, famous in his own right–sort of–as the star of a British reality T.V. show called Made in Chelsea, also said he thought Emma Watson was “very cool and interesting” and not at all like the public’s perception of her. Whatever that is. And although he no longer keeps in touch with his “too” famous ex, he’s pleased that their paths cross from time to time.
Well, Francis Boulle sounds like a gem. Emma Watson is probably well rid of him. Men who can’t deal with a richer, more famous, and/or more successful woman aren’t really very manly are they?
Harry Potter star Emma Watson has reportedly asked her boyfriend Johnny Simmons to move to Britain.
The 21-year-old actress, who is about to take up a place at Oxford University, wants Simmons to be with her when she resumes her studies next month, Daily Mail reported.
“Emma is looking forward to her English degree at Worcester College. She is excited to be back but she misses Johnny. She would love him to come here,” a friend of Watson’s said.
Watson met actor Simmons, 24, on the set of her new film, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, in Pittsburgh.
The two have however never spoken about their relationship in public but have been pictured getting intimate on various occasions.
