Watson announced on her website yesterday that she’s stopping her studies at Brown University for the time being to concentrate on doing the press rounds for the final “Harry Potter” movie this summer and then work on her other upcoming film commitments.

“I will still be working towards my degree… it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought,” she wrote.

It doesn’t sound like a compromise that the young Miss Granger would ever make, but as Watson fans, we could not be happier for the actress. Emma has several upcoming projects that we’re really excited for, and we’re glad she’s as willing to commit as we are.

“Deathly Hallows: Part 2″ press rounds
When the Wizarding World of Harry Potter had its grand opening, and for some of the “Deathly Hallows: Part 1″ press rounds, Watson had to make some compromises on both sides of the spectrum for her school commitments. We’re glad that she can dedicate herself 100 percent to “Part 2″ this go around, considering it’s the last time she’ll attend a “Potter” premiere.

This project has been stuck in gestation for years, but finally Summit Entertainment purchased the rights to the film and it’s getting underway. This might be one of the main reasons Watson is taking a leave from school, as shooting should get underway soon.

But that isn’t the only young adult adaptation that Watson has up her belt. She is one of the frontrunners for the female lead in the Taylor Lautner-starring dystopian young adult adaptation “Incarceron,” and there is nothing that we would love more than for her to get the role.

Something New, Please!
There was a point in time where we honestly were worried we were never going to see an Emma Watson film again. Fortunately that time has passed, and with this latest decision, we’re hopeful that Watson will stick around Hollywood for many years to come.

What are the Harry Potter kids gonna do after this last movie?

The eighth (and last) Harry Potter flick wrapped production earlier this month, and the young stars all have post-Hogwarts plans. They are actors, after all.

At least one has been making good money standing still and looking hot for Burberry, and you should be able to catch them all on the big screen, bearing props that are definitely not wands:

For example, the lead actor in all eight of the Harry Potter movies, Daniel Radcliffe, is attached to do a war picture that does not involve Death Eaters but rather, simply, death. He’s signed on to play the lead, Paul Baumer, in a remake of the World War I picture All’s Quiet on the Western Front. (“Daniel brings a vulnerability and innocence to Paul,” producer Ian Stokell told Variety last month.)

The last time the movie was made, it was in 1930, and it won Best Picture, and even portkeys hadn’t been invented yet, and I’ll try to stop now.

Onward to Emma Watson aka Hermione Granger.

The final Potter film recently wrapped filming, and she has no movie projects officially announced. Then again, she doesn’t need any, given that she, along with fellow actor Rupert Grint reportedly earned $30 million—apiece—for their appearances in the two-part Potter finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. (Radcliffe got $40 million, plus $1 million for his image on merchandise, according to Vanity Fair.)

Right now, Watson has told interviewers, she wants to concentrate on the student life, hence no new flicks, at least, not right now.

That isn’t to say she hasn’t eyeballed some scripts.

“The scripts all have happy endings, they’re really badly written and they are sending them to an English literature student,” she complained to London’s Daily Mail.

Now let’s talk Rupert Grint. You know, Ron Weasley.

While Radcliffe will be slogging through the Battle of Verdun, Grint will be leaping in the snow in an upcoming comedy currently in pre-production. Dubbed Eddie the Eagle, the comedy tells the true story of England’s first contender for an Olympic ski jumping title. It’s in pre-production.

That may not sound like much, relatively, but Grint may end up with the biggest career out of the three. Why? Get this: Martin Scorsese really, really likes him.

“I thought he was great in the Harry Potter movies—in a lot of scenes, the boy stole the show,” the director told the London Guardian. “I would be very interested in working with him. I would have no issues in casting him as a gangster. He is a very talented young man.”

Scorsese even—get this—compared Grint to a serious A-lister.

“When [Leo DiCaprio] was in Romeo and Juliet, nobody saw him becoming a badass in movies like The Departed. But he has become one of the greatest actors of all time. The very same could be true for Rupert.”

The ladies seem to love some Tom Felton, so we’ll throw him in here, too. Once he hangs up his Death-Eater get-up, the onetime Draco Malfoy will debut a horror flick already in the can.

It’s called The Apparition, something about a college experiment gone horribly wrong, but it’s Tom Felton, so I don’t need to really tell you too much more, now, do I?

A new behind the scene video from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” has been available online. Debuted on Entertainment Tonight Canada, the very short clip gives a glimpse at Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour dancing during their wedding. Moreover, the footage shows Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger in what looks like the woods.

Prior to the video, official images of the next installment of “Harry Potter” film franchise have been released by Warner Bros. Pictures. The first picture, which was reportedly taken near Piccadilly Circus in London, features the three young wizards. The second photo, meanwhile, captures Harry holding his wand in a place which is believed to be Grimauld Place.

In another “Deathly Hallows” news, Daniel Radcliffe who plays Harry is said to be naked twice in the forthcoming film. According to La Vibra, director David Yates revealed that the British actor will bare his skin when his character and Ron want to kill a Horcrux. Then, the helmer added, “There is another scene in Kings Cross station, where Harry almost dies and sees Dumbledore. In that scene he will also be naked.”

Based on J.K. Rowling’s last “Harry Potter” novel, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” will be made into two movies. “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I” is due for November 19, 2010 release in both U.S. and U.K., whereas “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II” is slated to be premiered on July 15, 2011. Beside Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson will also return to reprise their roles as Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Actress Emma Watson vaulted to fame as the whip-smart, wizard Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter film series. The character embodies many of Watson’s own traits. She is studious, serious and confides in new wide ranging interview that she is having trouble coming to grips with her own budding sexuality.

The 18-year-old says stylists put her in mini-skirts and she has been deluged with offers to do films with nude scenes, but vowed: “I’m not just getting my kit off for anyone.” Yet she was photographed on her 18th birthday party in provocative crotch-exposing poses. She explains for the first time how that came about.

“Let’s be honest, I have enough money to never have to work again. It’s only just recently that I’ve really come round to the idea of carrying on with acting at all. I knew I was the perfect nine-year-old to play Hermione. But I was concerned that all would come out after that was Hermione. And if that had happened – well, I would know I couldn’t act. And then that would be it,” she says in interviews in the UK’s Sunday Mail and Telegraph newspapers.

Watson says she has little interest in fame or recognition. She was born of Oxbridge parents and now she’s considering an Oxbridge place herself, with a bright mind, bright looks and $18 million in the bank. She prefers academic diversions like English and Philosophy at a Cambridge college when she gives her perspective on her notorious coming-of-age 18th birthday party in Hollywood last year.

“It was pretty tough turning 18,’ she says. ‘I realized that overnight I’d become fair game. I had a party in town and the pavements were just knee-deep with photographers trying to get a shot of me looking drunk, which wasn’t going to happen. I don’t have to drink to have a good time. The sickest part was when one photographer lay down on the floor to get a shot up my skirt.

“The night it was legal for them to do it, they did it. I woke up the next day and felt completely violated by it all. That’s not something I want in my life. I just kept thinking that if it had happened a day earlier people would have sued their a***s off.”

‘I find this whole thing about being 18 and everyone expecting me to be this object… I find the whole concept of being ‘sexy’ embarrassing and confusing. If I do a photo-shoot people desperately want to change me – dye my hair blonder, pluck my eyebrows, give me a fringe.

“Then there’s the choice of clothes. I know everyone wants a picture of me in a mini-skirt. But that’s not me. I feel uncomfortable. I’d never go out in a mini-skirt. It’s nothing to do with protecting the Hermione image. I wouldn’t do that,” she says.

Of course on the night she was photographed, Watson was wearing the shortest of skirts and see-through panties that clearly exposed her private parts. But she hasn’t repeated the scene since, although if she hopes to transition to adult film roles, she will be have to consider how to go up against Hollywood’s sexiest bad girls, like Sienna Miller, Kirsten Dunst and Lindsay Lohan, all of whom have had repeated episodes of paparazzi-teasing flashes of nudity in public.

And, her male Harry Potter stars, Daniel Radcliffe and Peter Grint have already done nude scenes, either in movies on in Radcliffe’s case on the Broadway stage.

In an earlier interview, however, Watson told the Times of London she would not have a problem doing film nude scenes if the role is right. Like many child actresses, Watson must deal with perceptions of her as a child in her movies while dealing with the fact that she has become a grown woman, who now must find grown-up roles.

“I’m at a strange age… I’m not a woman yet, but I’m not a girl anymore,” she told the Times of London in an interview. “[Film companies] say, ‘Oh, in a couple of years you’ll be perfect for this.’ I’ll be like, yeah, but I want to be studying English then, so it’s going to be quite tough to choose between the two.”

Part six of the Warner Bros series, “Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince,” will be released this July and the final two-part installment, “Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows,” is filming now.

The pictures were taken by German-born photographer Ellen von Unwerth. Some of the shots show the 18-year-old girl getting busy putting make-up on her face. Emma is also seen dancing with a guy in another photo.

Growing up on screen is proving to be a challenge for Rupert Grint, who tells Mandrake that he is dreading filming romantic scenes with Emma Watson, his co-star in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

“As I’ve known Emma for so long, I reckon it will be 10 times worse,” says the 20-year-old actor, who plays Ron Weasley.

“I really love the seventh book, but there is no way it will be tame with the Hermione stuff.”

The kiss, which is due to be filmed next month, should have been a walk in the park for Grint after his graphic performance opposite Kimberley Nixon, a 23-year-old Welsh actress, in the forthcoming film Cherrybomb. The actor compares them with the nude scenes that Daniel Radcliffe is currently performing on stage in New York.

“I don’t think it’s quite up there with Dan’s Equus, but it was quite a surreal experience, especially as we were sharing the bed with half a dozen camera crew,” he says. “But, yeah, I was quite nervous, I think we both were.

“It was a new thing for the two of us – though, weirdly, I remember Kim and I doing a crossword in between takes. That definitely took our minds off the deed.”

He now hopes that Emma, 18, who plays the brainy Hermione Granger, will be similarly distracted. “I’ll have a stack of crosswords at the ready,” he says.

She said: “My friends are very proud like that, that’s why I love them. They would be embarrassed if I paid for stuff, and if I ever try, they always say, ‘What are you doing? I want to pay half.’ ”

Emma, 18, also revealed her friends find it difficult when fans approach her in public.

She added to website Movies.ie: “It’s weird for them, especially when people recognise me and come up to me. It’s awkward for them but they are very good about it.

“My friends are very protective, which is sweet.”

The talented star – who recently voiced a character for animated movie ‘The Tale of Despereaux’ – also revealed there are positive and negatives to her worldwide fame.

She said: “The best thing about being involved in ‘Harry Potter’, is that you can make a six year old girl or boy’s day by giving them a handshake and it’s so easy. It costs me so little to make someone incredibly happy so that’s amazing and I’ve walked away and thought, ‘God I’m so lucky to be in a position that people are that excited to meet me.’

“The downside is that the level of curiosity into your life means that it becomes quite intrusive and the level of criticism is hard to deal with sometimes. It can make you really insecure.”

It’s been hard to be a Harry Potter fan this year. Not only was the next installment, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” delayed until next summer, we were also shocked by the decision to split the final film, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” into two movies. It feels like we might be waiting for the cinematic finale longer than we waited for the book!

The split didn’t just surprise fans – it was unexpected to the film’s cast as well. When MTV News spoke to Emma Watson, we asked her if she could update us on how the film will be divided.

“I don’t know,” she replied. “I am as intrigued as you are. I am waiting at the moment to receive the script. It’s a tough call. I’m sure it will be some cruel cliffhanger.”

The delays of the next three films means that Watson will be saying a long goodbye to Hermione Granger, but she is emotional when it comes to leaving the character behind.

“It’s really mixed feelings,” Watson gushed. “It will be bittersweet. It will be very scary because it’s been such a massive part of my life. It will have been nearly over a decade that I’d been playing Hermione. It’ll be tough but I’ll be ready to go I think. I’ll be ready to take on other projects. It will be exciting.”

Muggles know her as Hermione Granger, the outspoken witch from the Harry Potter movies.

But the petite, polite Emma Watson seems shockingly normal. Her entourage consists of an unobtrusive security guard and her father, who, his daughter proudly says, dressed up as King Triton from “The Little Mermaid” for her fifth birthday.

“I’m a massive animated film fan,” she said. “And now I have my own.”

That is “The Tale of Despereaux,” the animated story of a mouse (Matthew Broderick) who wakens the lonely Princess Pea (Watson) from the isolation of her life.

“I felt really sorry for (her). She says that ‘One day, my prince will come,’ and it was really sweet that her prince came in the form of this goofy mouse,” Watson says.

At home in London, Watson takes the subway, plays tennis and field hockey, and shops with friends.

“I can’t imagine … being trapped and locked in hotel rooms and cars,” says Watson.

In fact, most of Watson’s time is spent shooting the “Potter” films.

The sixth film, “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” opens in July.

“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” the final installment, starts shooting in February and will be released in two parts. “And then I’ll be done,” she says. “It’s so much a part of my life, and it’s going to be so strange when it’s over. It’s strange being 18 and thinking … that probably I will never be part of something this big again in my lifetime.”

Watson’s personal fortune is estimated to be $20 million, so she might never have to work again. She is applying to colleges, mostly in the United States, plans to start next fall and hopes to study English literature.

“The wealth side of it hasn’t hit me yet because I have no need for money in my life. I still live at home. I eat meals with my family every night. I don’t go out a huge amount. I don’t really travel a lot,” she says.
